Manifesting Without the Pressure: The “Feel Good for 5 Minutes” Practice

A gentle, practical way to shift your energy—and your life

What if the first step toward changing your life wasn’t a big, dramatic transformation…

…but five minutes?

In my latest Secrets of Being podcast episode, I sat down with Andrew Kap—author of The Last Law of Attraction Book You’ll Ever Need to Read—for a refreshingly real conversation about manifesting, the Law of Attraction, and what it looks like when spirituality meets real-life schedules, real-life heartbreak, and real-life distractions.

And yes… we also talked about my puppies eating his book (because apparently “Just Feel Good” is very delicious to dogs). 🐾

But beneath the humor was a message that felt like a warm lantern in the dark:

If you can feel better for five minutes a day, your life can begin to shift.

A simple truth: what you focus on grows

Andrew described the Law of Attraction in the most grounded way:

Everything is energy—including our thoughts and emotions.
And energy tends to resonate with “like” energy.

So when we get stuck in worry, we often unknowingly “pray” for what we don’t want.
But when we shift—even slightly—toward gratitude, ease, hope, or possibility… we begin noticing different doors, different opportunities, different people, and different outcomes.

Not because we’re forcing the universe.

But because we’re no longer drowning in the same frequency.

The best part? You don’t have to force big emotions

This was one of my favorite takeaways:

You don’t have to pretend everything is perfect.
You don’t have to “fake high vibes.”
You don’t have to pressure yourself into joy.

Andrew shared something I completely agree with:

You don’t need to feel ecstatic to create change.
You just need to stop living in the negative spiral.

Even feeling okay is a win.
And okay can become good.
And good can become hopeful.
And hopeful can become open.

That’s how transformation often happens: softly.

A 5-minute practice that can change everything

Here are two easy ways to start—no fancy rituals required:

1) The 5-Minute Gratitude Reset
Set a timer for 5 minutes.
Think (or say out loud) what you’re grateful for—simple things count:

  • clean water
  • your pets
  • a friend who checks on you
  • sunlight
  • your ability to begin again

This isn’t denial.
This is nervous-system medicine.

2) Scripting (in present tense)
Andrew shared a practice called scripting—writing (or speaking) as if you’re already living the life you desire.

Example:

  • “I love how supported I feel.”
  • “I’m so grateful my work is thriving.”
  • “I feel calm and confident in my next step.”

If you don’t like writing, speak it into your phone while you walk.
If you don’t want to record it, just say it quietly to yourself.

The “right” method is the one you’ll actually do.

A powerful reframe: “I get to”

One of the most beautiful moments in the episode was the reminder to shift from:

“I have to…”
to
“I get to…”

Not as toxic positivity—but as truth.

Because so much of what we call inconvenience is actually evidence of life:

  • I get to try again.
  • I get to learn.
  • I get to heal.
  • I get to begin.

The most freeing takeaway of all

Andrew said something that felt like wisdom you can build a life on:

Even if you’re skeptical…
even if you’re not sure any of this “manifesting” stuff is real…

Five minutes of feeling good is still a gift.

Worst case scenario?
You get five minutes of peace in a world that can be heavy.

Best case scenario?
Those five minutes start changing your inner world…
and your outer world begins to follow.

Try this today

If you’re going through a hard season, please don’t pressure yourself to do it all.

Just do this:

Five minutes.
One practice.
One gentle shift.
